So yesterday I got my invite to the Boxee alpha. It is based off of the XBMC (Xbox Media Center) platform, and currently runs on Mac OS X, Ubuntu Linux, and the Apple TV. For still being in alpa I’m really impressed with the interface, functionality, and lack of crashes. I’ve used it for probably 3 hours and so far not a single crash. There are a couple of bugs in the features (scrolling issues mainly) but other than that I have been able to stream Netflix and Hulu as well as listen to internet radio. Here are a couple of screenshots:

I really don’t enjoy weddings that much. Don’t get me wrong, I like the food, getting to hang out with family, seeing new places, but there is a big downside – the wedding party. They are usually the reason you end up coming (unless of course you are the tag along boyfriend) and they are always wrapped up in themselves and are stressed out. So really the family you came to see and wish well doesn’t notice you and doesn’t want to be bothered. Sure they will make the quick stop by your table at the rehearsal dinner to say hello but beyond that they just don’t care. And why should they? It’s their day. All I’m saying is the wedding part blows. The rest of it is great. Haven’t seen your extended family in a while? Have a cousin get married. Everybody will be there and will be getting ignored just lile you and you’ll get to spend time with them while the bride and groom suffer through the stress. .
